CRM Connector Platform integration
ServiceM8 + Jobber Integration
Connect ServiceM8 and Jobber so both run off one client list. Clients stay in sync in both directions, and a company switching between the two brings its client list across and keeps both running during the switch.
- ServiceM8 in the field, Jobber in the office, one client list.
At a glance
What syncs between ServiceM8 and Jobber
Direction words mean exactly what they say. Two way means changes flow in both directions and the platform keeps the two systems agreeing. One way means data flows from the source into the destination.
| Record type | Direction | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Clients (contacts) | Two way | Created or changed on either side, appears and updates on the other. |
For contacts you pick which system leads: when the same contact changed on both sides between syncs, the leading side wins. This pair syncs clients both ways and nothing else. Jobs, invoices and scheduling are not offered for this pair.
What is mapped
Clients, what is mapped
A ServiceM8 client is really two records: the company card and the contact person on it. The platform reads and writes both as one clean contact.
| ServiceM8 | Jobber | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Client name | Company name | Both ways; ServiceM8 requires a name, the platform builds a sensible one when only a person is known. |
| Contact first and last name | First name, last name | Both ways, from the primary contact person. |
| Both ways. | ||
| Mobile | Phone | Both ways; mobile is the primary channel in ServiceM8. |
| Street, city, state, postcode, country | Billing address | Both ways. |
| Has bought before | Customer flag | Derived from completed jobs, see below. |
Two records, one contact
Writing into ServiceM8 updates the client card and its primary contact person together, and creates the contact person when the client has none. You just see one clean contact on both sides.
No duplicates
Before creating a client in ServiceM8 the platform searches for an exact email match; before creating a Jobber client it checks email and phone.
Customer or lead, proven
A ServiceM8 client with at least one completed job counts as a customer. This powers the customers only and leads only sync filters.
How the sync stays safe
Built to never damage your data
Echo protection
On the two way client sync the platform remembers what it wrote, so its own update coming back is never mistaken for a new change.
Change detection
Every record has a fingerprint; unchanged records are skipped, so a settled sync is quiet.
Rejections are caught
ServiceM8 can refuse a write inside an otherwise successful response; the platform reads that envelope and reports it honestly instead of calling a rejected record synced.
Rate limit aware
ServiceM8 budgets API calls per account per day; the integration paces itself and a write is engineered to cost the minimum number of calls.
Filters and controls
You decide what travels, and when
Contact trigger
Everyone, customers only, or leads only.
Sync from date
Only records dated on or after a chosen date travel. Contacts have no date and always travel.
Frequency
From every 30 minutes to every 3 days, per plan. Every 4 hours is included on every plan; faster intervals come with the higher plans.
Connecting
How ServiceM8 connects
Official sign in (OAuth)
ServiceM8 connects with its official sign in (OAuth): click Connect, sign in to ServiceM8, approve, done. It can also start from ServiceM8 itself: the CRM Connector Platform add-on in the ServiceM8 Add-on Store signs you in and walks you through setup. One honest note the confirmation screen also makes: ServiceM8 offers no way for an app to revoke its own access, so after disconnecting on the platform, fully removing the add-on happens in the ServiceM8 add-on store.
Requirements
A ServiceM8 account.
