CRM Connector Platform

Sold in the office. A CompanyCam project before the crew arrives.

The integration hub for CompanyCam. The crew documents the work in CompanyCam; the office sells and bills somewhere else. CRM Connector connects the two: a deal won in your CRM or a quote accepted in your books becomes a CompanyCam project at the customer's address, ServiceM8 jobs become projects too, and customers stay the same everywhere, so nobody types a job site twice.

What syncs

What CompanyCam keeps in step

Customers

Both ways

CompanyCam customers, both ways with QuickBooks Online, Xero, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, ServiceM8 and more. Name and address follow every change; email and phone are set when the customer is created, and one CompanyCam rejects as invalid is left out instead of blocking the customer. A company customer carries its person as its first contact.

Projects

One way

A deal won in HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM or HighLevel, an opportunity won in Salesforce, or a quote accepted in QuickBooks Online, Xero, FreshBooks, Zoho Books or FreeAgent becomes a CompanyCam project for the same customer at the customer's address. Every ServiceM8 job becomes a project at the job address, and a completed job archives it.

Stage rules

Stage rules: sold work becomes a CompanyCam project

Each rule needs a start date, 60 days back by default, so nothing sold long ago becomes a project on the first run.

  • Deal won, project created

A deal won in HubSpot, Pipedrive or Zoho CRM, or an opportunity won in Salesforce or HighLevel, becomes a CompanyCam project for the same customer, named after the deal (its first line, at most 100 characters), at the customer's address. Open and lost deals do not travel.

  • Quote accepted, project created

A quote accepted in QuickBooks Online, Xero, FreshBooks, Zoho Books or FreeAgent becomes a CompanyCam project for the same customer, named Quote and its number, at the customer's address. Open, declined and expired quotes do not travel.

  • Job booked, project created

Every ServiceM8 job becomes a CompanyCam project at the job address. When the job is completed in ServiceM8, the project is archived.

Connecting

How CompanyCam connects

Official sign in

OAuth

CompanyCam connects with its official sign in. Sign in to CRM Connector, choose Connect in the app, sign in to CompanyCam and approve access. One connection covers one CompanyCam company. Removing the connection stops every sync with it at once; the app stays approved in CompanyCam until you remove it there.

What you need

  • A CRM Connector account. Connecting happens inside the app.
  • A CompanyCam account with access to customers and projects.

You approve access on CompanyCam's own sign in page. Your CompanyCam password never reaches CRM Connector.

Good to know

How CompanyCam behaves

What is true for CompanyCam whichever system you pair it with. What is particular to one pairing is on its tile above.

  • Not connected to Jobber or Housecall Pro

Jobber and Housecall Pro each have their own CompanyCam integration, so this platform does not pair CompanyCam with them. Running both would write every customer and project twice.

  • A project needs an address

A project is a job site. It is created at the job address, or else at the customer's address. CompanyCam needs a full address for a project: street, city, state, postal code and country. Without one the project is not made until the address is filled in, and the sync says which parts are missing. Cancelled work is simply skipped.

  • Archived means completed

An archived project reads as completed in the other system, and finished work archives its project. A sync never unarchives a project, and an archived one is left as it is, even when the ServiceM8 job is reopened.

  • The project belongs to the crew

Its address and customer are set when it is created. After that a sync only renames or archives it, and photos, notes, checklists and everything the crew adds stay exactly as they are.

  • The company name is set once

A company customer keeps the name it was created with. A sync never renames it, because the crew knows every job site by it.

  • Photos, proposals and invoices stay in CompanyCam

Photos, videos, documents, checklists, tasks, labels, proposals and CompanyCam invoices are not synced. Customers and projects are.

  • Every sync reads the full lists

CompanyCam cannot list only what changed, so each sync reads all customers and projects and passes on only what changed since the last run. CompanyCam allows 240 reads and 100 writes a minute, and the platform stays below that on its own.
