How do I disconnect Stripe?

Remove the CRM Connector app in your Stripe Dashboard. Removing the connection in CRM Connector stops the syncing, but the app stays installed in Stripe until you remove it there.

How Stripe connects

CRM Connector app in the Stripe App Marketplace

OAuth

1Install the CRM Connector app from the Stripe App Marketplace, or choose Sign in to Stripe inside CRM Connector.
2Approve it on Stripe's own screen, which shows exactly what the app may do: read and write customers, read invoices. Nothing is copied or pasted, and the connection renews itself.
3Set up your integrations. An install from the Stripe App Marketplace starts with Stripe as the system records come from; integrations that send customers into Stripe are set up in CRM Connector afterwards.
4Prefer a key? Paste a restricted API key into the setup wizard instead.

What you need

A CRM Connector account. Connecting happens inside the app.
A Stripe account.
A restricted key, if you use one instead of the app, needs write access to Customers and read access to Invoices.

You approve access on Stripe's own sign in page. Your Stripe password never reaches CRM Connector.

How Stripe behaves

What is true for Stripe whichever system you pair it with. What is particular to one pairing is on that pair's own page, linked from its tile above.

The single name field is handled with care
- Stripe stores one name where other systems store first and last.
- It is read whole into the first name field, joined from first and last name once when a customer is created in Stripe, and never rewritten afterwards, so names are not mangled.
No duplicates in Stripe
- Stripe happily stores two customers with the same email, so before creating one the platform looks for the same email and, where your account offers customer search, for the same phone on a customer without another email.
- A match is updated instead of copied.
Money stays in Stripe
- Invoices and payments are read from Stripe and never written into it.
- Stripe invoices travel out; nothing a customer paid is ever changed in Stripe.
- Stripe invoices are read in full on every sync, so set a sync from date to leave older history out.
A credit is not an invoice
- A Stripe invoice that ends below zero, a credit only, is refused by the books and by HubSpot.
- It shows as a failed record with the reason and is then left alone.
