How Xero connects

Official sign in (OAuth)

Xero connects with its official sign in. Click Connect, sign in to Xero, pick the organisation, done. Removing the connection also removes the app connection at Xero's side.

Requirements

A Xero organisation with invoicing. For recording payments, an account with payments enabled or a bank account, which most organisations already have.

The honest limits

Where a system draws a line, the page says so, so there are no surprises after go live.

  • Xero locks the issue date once money is applied

    So the issue date is set when the invoice is created and not compared afterwards. Due date and invoice number keep travelling both ways.

  • Decided quotes are left alone

    Once a Xero quote is accepted, declined or invoiced, Xero only takes contact details and notes, so the platform does not try to edit it.

  • Built to respect Xero's limits

    Xero is asked only for records changed since the last run, in the largest pages Xero allows, so the integration uses the minimum number of API calls.
